Well my friend and I were very happy to see this place open again. We have been back many times and have enjoyed each visit. Yes, of course it's different because it's a different management. The menu is  somewhat different, but the free cookies when you walk out the door are very tasty. We will continue going back.

Really 2.5 stars but I rounded up. (Ok after writing my review, downgrading to a solid two.)
Looks like they just reopened it with a new owner. Didn't seem to make any effort to improve or update anything.
Seems like the re-opening brought back many of the regulars. I'd come here purely for listening to the conversations. haha.
However, you're probably here for the food. The food is just alright. Nothing stellar but you're not looking for nor paying Michelin stars either. Pretty much all Sysco truck stuff. Like the onion rings, probably the best thing on the menu. Fried just right and enough onion that it's meaty and doesn't come out of the batter in one big mess.
The Monte Cristo was pretty disappointing. Really should be called a French Toast sandwich. The sandwich is normally battered whole and deep fried. The two slices of bread were barely battered to even be called French Toast. The meat was basic deli meat that seemed heavy on the salty side. There was no powered sugar to offset the above normal sodium enriched meats. Traditionally there's also jam that accompanies this dish, none was provided. Sad face.
Dessert only consisted of two pie choices this day, banana cream and apple pie. Now diners are supposed to be known for their homemade pies. I opted for the apple. When the $4 tiny slice came out, I had flashbacks of Costco apple pie samples. Yup, pretty sure that's where they're from. Double sad face.
While I lucked out this time and didn't get sick like the others, I probably won't chance it here.

Well, we won't be going here again.  We were glad to see Amber reopen even though it was under new management.  They now have been open a couple of months.  They are still so slow to get the food out, but getting better.  But this last time, I got food poisoning from the scrambled eggs.  I was sick for 2 days.  My mate wasn't as sick but he got sick also.  We won't be back.  I cannot take that kind of chance again.  You must have ordered too much and didn't turn the stock over quick enough.  Now you've lost a customer.  I wish you luck on your next restaurant.  This one is a flop.

I thought about whether to rate the Amber as a three or four star place, and decided that based on the good service and reasonable prices that it should receive the higher mark.  The last time I was here was twenty years ago, in the well pre-Yelp days.  Nothing seems to have changed in that period, other than the fact that they no longer stay open for dinner.  The food potion is plentiful and cheap, the decor is retro 80's Arabic and I bet the staff members are likely the same as they were in the 90s.

I ordered the Tuesday breakfast special, two huge fluffy pancakes which were topped with two eggs and accompanied by three link sausages.  Bacon was an option for those who choose that over sausage.  The meal was served quickly by a pleasant and attentive staff.  I was happy to have found that the Amber had aged gracefully over the years and that the food was well priced and of pretty good quality for a diner.

Although our numbers are dwindling because of deaths, this restaurant is still stellar! Whenever I go there, generally every Saturday morning, I find the same wonderful folks, the same wonderful food and the same crowd. Any town would be proud to to have Amber Restaurant
